On Saturday, September 12, 2026, Welcome Home Heroes invites our community to join us for Celebrating All Local Heroes, a free event honoring the men and women who have dedicated themselves to serving others.
Heroes Wear Many Uniforms
When we talk about heroes, there isn’t just one uniform or one kind of service.
Some answered the call to serve our country in the Armed Forces. Others answer calls for help every day as law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics and other emergency personnel.
Still others serve without wearing a uniform at all. They’re volunteers, community leaders, neighbors and family members who continually step forward when someone needs them.
Celebrating All Local Heroes is our opportunity to recognize all of them.
Throughout the day, our community can come together, meet some of the people who serve around us, share stories and simply say thank you.
Honoring an Extraordinary Life of Service
We are especially honored to recognize Frank S. Wright, U.S. Marine and Iwo Jima veteran, as our Main Guest of Honor.
As Frank celebrates his 101st year, his remarkable story reminds us that the history we read about isn’t as distant as it sometimes seems.
The courage and sacrifice of the men who fought at Iwo Jima helped shape the world generations of Americans inherited. Having the opportunity to recognize Frank and his service is an extraordinary privilege for Welcome Home Heroes and our community.
Bring the Family
Celebrating All Local Heroes isn’t intended to be a solemn ceremony where you simply sit and watch.
It’s a community gathering.
Bring your children. Bring your parents. Invite your neighbors and friends.
Give younger generations an opportunity to meet veterans and local heroes, and give those who serve an opportunity to see firsthand how much their community appreciates them.
Most importantly, simply come spend some time together.
