At this year’s Welcome Home Heroes celebration, we will have the extraordinary privilege of honoring Frank S. Wright as our Main Guest of Honor.
Frank is a United States Marine and veteran of the Battle of Iwo Jima, one of the most difficult and consequential battles of World War II. Now 101 years old, he represents a generation whose courage, sacrifice, and devotion to country should never be forgotten.
The history we read about in books was lived by men like Frank.
As a young Marine, he answered his country’s call and served during a defining moment in our nation’s history. More than eight decades later, his presence reminds us that the freedoms we enjoy were protected by real people, people who left their families, faced unimaginable circumstances, and carried those experiences with them for the rest of their lives.
Welcome Home Heroes was created to make sure those sacrifices are remembered and those who serve receive the gratitude they deserve.
On September 12, our community will have the opportunity to stand together and honor Frank—not only for his military service, but for the remarkable life and legacy represented by his 101 years.

The Welcome Home Heroes celebration is a free community event honoring veterans, active-duty military personnel, law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical professionals, volunteers, and others who serve and strengthen our communities.
